Located in the heart of Newcastle’s cultural quarter, The Biscuit Factory is the largest commercial art, craft & design gallery in the UK. 

In the backdrop of a former Victorian warehouse, this gallery space features two floors of over 250 contemporary fine art, sculpture, original prints and jewellery collections.

This cultural hub is a great place to browse some art without having to spend a penny of your student budget.

Newcastle may be a city which is known for its vibrant nightlife scene, but there are plenty of fun things to do to keep you busy after dark. 

If you love all things mini golf and tasty cocktails, then grab your friends and head to Junkyard Golf Newcastle.

If you’re wanting to be entertained whilst living in Newcastle, Lane7 should be top off your list.

We did say this guide would have something for everyone, and this next activity is for the film fanatics out there. 

Dating back to the 1930s, Tyneside Cinema is the UK’s last surviving newsreel theatre and is a Grade II-listed building, located in the centre of Newcastle.

As the North East’s leading independent cinema, this venue features 3-screens, 2 cafes and a bar, making it the perfect base for film nights with your friends.

7. Go To A Game At St. James Park 

Home to the iconic football team, Newcastle United, St. James Park is a must-visit for sports fans living in The Toon. 

Located to the North West of the city centre, St. James Park has a capacity of over 52,000 with an amazing match day atmosphere.

8. Visit The Angel of The North

10. Take A Stroll Through Jesmond Dene 

Whilst living in Newcastle, if you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, Jesmond Dene is a picturesque spot. 

This peaceful green space features many bridges to walk across, a stunning waterfall, along with plenty of wildlife to discover. 

If you fancy a fun activity, get together with your flatmates, pack a picnic and head to this peaceful green space just a 10 minute drive from the vibrant city centre.
