Why not upgrade your student accommodation for more romantic digs for a night or so?

Spend a day having fun and making memories that will last a lifetime – they can certainly be more meaningful and thoughtful than a gift.

There are plenty of things to do on this special day but sometimes having a lot of options can make it difficult to decide.

If you are not sure what to do we have compiled a list of 9 Valentine’s Day experiences that you could do with your partner this February.

So carry on reading and get the romantic vibes flowing…

valentines day experiences

1. Make A Bucket List

What better way to spend Valentine’s Day than ticking something off your bucket list.

This is the perfect time to do something you have always dreamed of doing together.

It’s a bonus that you get to experience it with your best friend, you can’t get more romantic than that!

If that’s not something you can afford to do right now then why not spend the day creating a bucket list together that you can do throughout the year? That’s a year of guaranteed fun memories.

For some romantic and fun bucket list ideas to do as a couple check out Two Drifters who give you over 100 ideas to choose from or take inspo from.

2. Attend A Concert

A lot of couples have a song that is “their song” or share love for the same artists.

Going to see the artist in concert for Valentine’s Day or even just buying the tickets and giving them to your partner on the day can be a great way to spend some quality time together.

A concert is a fun experience that you will always look back on as one of the best nights you’ve ever had.

It may even be that you two both met at a concert, so how cute would it be to spend Valentine’s at a gig too!

To find where and when your favourite artist or band is playing check out Ticketmaster, Live Nation or other reputable ticket sites.

You could always look into planning a festival together later on in the year if you’re wanting to see tons of different artists together!

3. Go Exploring

Valentine’s Day is a great opportunity to go exploring which only gets more exciting when it is something you can enjoy and experience together.

Be a tourist in your current city or town, you may even find something or somewhere you have never noticed before.

As well as learn more about places and landmarks you’ve always wanted to know more about.

Alternatively, go for a hike and enjoy some quality time together with beautiful sights as you also get some fresh air and time away from those screens we are all constantly looking at.

This is the ideal free alternative for students who are on a budget!

4. A Short Getaway

Take a break from studying and book a little weekend getaway for just the two of you this Valentine’s Day.

It doesn’t have to be far, maybe a weekend stay at a local spa to relax and enjoy each other’s company.

Or you could even recreate a spa type weekend from the comfort of your own home and enjoy some time away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

If you and your significant other do want to explore further, you could pick a city or town you’d both like to visit and spend a weekend exploring the sites there.

If you’re feeling more adventurous, why not find something a bit more out there? Such as booking a cabin in the woods to experience the outdoors whilst still living in luxury.

The quiet and peaceful atmosphere makes it a perfect romantic getaway.

Although, trips like this tend to be more expensive in the run up to Valentine’s, so it may be best booking it for another time to look forward to, each to their own though!

5. Recreating A Perfect Memory

Next in our guide to Valentine’s Day experiences for you and your partner is to recreate a perfect memory you two share together.

Head down memory lane and experience one of your favourite memories together, again!

Maybe your first date feels special to you, why not experience it all over again by going to the same place you first went to?

If your first trip together was one of the best times you’ve had together, you can revisit the place and make even more core memories – cute!

You could always recreate it as closely as possible like cooking the same dishes, having the same drinks or doing the same activity even if it’s not the same place.

Whatever it is, it will only be made even more special than it already was.

6. Activities To Do Together

A shared activity is such a fun way to spend some quality time together this Valentine’s Day.

If you both love to cook you could cook a valentines meal together to make it even more romantic, make a dish each and surprise each other!

If your skills are not that great in the kitchen why not enrol in a virtual cooking class and learn together?

Or why not get crafty and create something together, it will make it that much more precious.

From painting together, you can just wing it or follow along with some YouTube videos to being creative and creating some little gifts for each other to make it even more personal.

There are even dance lessons you could both try out together – that is sure to be a good laugh.

It could even be as simple as making cocktail recipes together.

There’s plenty of fun activities you can do with your significant other from the comfort of your own home.

7. Play Games Together

A romantic Valentine’s Day experience doesn’t have to be expensive as long as it makes a good memory for you both to look back on in the future.

If you just want to have a fun day then holding a game night might be perfect for you and your partner, especially if you both have a bit of a competitive streak.

Get that monopoly board out, we know you want to!

Or maybe try a game you’ve never played before on the Xbox, just don’t let it get out of hand you know how these things can get…

Chances are there will be many gaming bars in your uni city or town so you could even head down for a night of fun.

You could even try to win a cute little gift for your partner in the arcade.

8. Head To The Theatre

Some of the simpler things can create the best memories, it doesn’t always have to be extravagant.

If you are film fanatics then why not go see a film together at the cinema and share a bucket of popcorn and a Tango Ice Blast?

A romantic film would really fit right in here or even a romantic comedy because everyone likes a good laugh.

Or, go beyond that and get tickets for a live show at the theatre which is something fun to experience together.

Maybe it’s going to see the musical you absolutely adore and have always wanted to see live, or a panto because they are definitely fun to watch.

Either way it gives you something to look forward to and be excited about, plus you can have some food and drinks – what a cute date idea!

9. Have A Chilled Day

Going out or making big plans for Valentine’s Day may not be your thing and that is 100% ok!

It is perfectly acceptable to just stay at home, so make a day of it – this is your perfect excuse to stay in your pjs and just chill together.

Put on a movie marathon, get a takeaway delivered to your door, snuggle together and not move an inch from the couch all day…that sounds good to us, don’t you think?

The smallest of things can mean just as much as the grander gestures, as everyone should appreciate the little things in life.

Valentine’s Day can be expensive so we don’t blame you if you want to save your pennies and spend the day relaxing together.

It may be cheaper and more fun for you two to just spend the day together, simple doesn’t have to mean boring after all.
