There are some amazing gigs lined up in the Welsh capital with its music scene being unbeatable – we can’t wait to see you there!

Here is our selection of the best live shows to go to as a student in Cardiff.

Gigs in cardiff

1. Liam Gallagher

Indie legend and former frontman of Oasis, Liam Gallagher, takes to the stage at Alexandra Head on Thursday, September 15. Gallagher will be performing tracks from his recently released third studio album, C’Mon You Know, as well as songs from As You Were and Why Me? Why Not.

He will be joined by the iconic Britpop band, The Charlatans, as well as many more supporting acts which are yet to be announced. After seeing his Knebworth shows this summer, we’re sure this one is going to be unreal!

In terms of the venue, Alexandra Head is a unique outdoor gig space in Cardiff which offers fantastic views of Cardiff Bay, we’re not sure there is a better way to listen to live music than here – Mad Fer It!

You can still secure a ticket to this gig on the Ticketmaster website but be quick! We’re sure that it will sell out.

5. Anastacia

Pop icon Anastacia is coming to Cardiff as part of her ‘I’m Outta Lockdown – The 22nd Anniversary’ European tour. We can’t get enough of American singer-songwriters in Cardiff, can we?!

Anastacia is touring for the first time since 2018 in support of her seventh studio album ‘Evolution’, which was her sixth album to reach the UK Top 10.

Fans can sing their hearts out to hits like ‘I’m Outta Love’ and ‘Left Outside Alone’ at Cardiff’s St David’s Hall this November.

In October 2021, Anastacia won The Masked Singer Australia which confirmed, she’s still got it! We’re buzzing to see videos of this upcoming concert.

Indie-rock girl band, The Big Moon, are gracing us with their presence in Cardiff this September at our favourite venue in the city centre, the Tramshed.

The trio will play songs from their recent album ‘Walking Like We Do’ with lovely tracks like ‘Your Light’, ‘Why’ and ‘Barcelona’ featuring amongst others. The girls will be joined by Gently Tender for their supporting act.

The gig has been re-scheduled from 2020 with fans patiently waiting two years, it’s going to be a special one in terms of Cardiff concerts!

Indie pop/rock band, Scouting for Girls, are set to perform at the Tramshed as part of their UK tour this December, where they will be performing their biggest hits and fan-favourites.

The tour will mark 15 years since their debut album was released (how nostalgic). So, they are performing the biggest hits from their first release as well as fan-favourites from across their discography.
