Tu Casa is an independent and authentic Spanish tapas restaurant in the heart of Cambridge city centre.

It’s only a 2-minute walk away from Parker’s Piece and not far from the university campuses.

3. Midsummer House

If you fancy a unique dining experience, we’d definitely recommend this Victorian themed venue.

This elegant conservatory dining room is situated in a villa on the Midsummer Common right on the banks of the River Cam.

It was first awarded its Michelin star in 2002 and another in 2005, making this a very popular venue in the city.

The Midsummer House lunch menu has some absolutely delicious meals including Provence tomato sorbet, aged Parmesan, olive, pepper and speck ham.

We’d also highly recommend the Passion fruit and yoghurt sorbet, Caramelia chocolate, tarragon for a delightful dessert.

4. Amélie Flam-kuche

Amélie Flam-kuche is a hidden gem in the Grafton Centre opposite the VUE Cinema.

It’s named after Flammekueche , a yeast free bread dough so thin that it cooks in 90 seconds!

The simple yet yummy dish is ideal as a quick meal midst shopping, or a snack before the cinema.

A classic dish served throughout the east of France, the Flammekueche has a range of modern, fresh toppings to create some wonderful flavour combinations. 

Top picks include the chorizo and mozzarella flam-kuche with sliced onions, olives, parmesan, rocket and cherry tomatoes.

Another great choice is the goats cheese flam-kuche with caramelised onion, roasted pine nuts, goats cheese, honey, beetroot and rocket.

5. Taj Tandoori

Located on the busy Cherry Hinton road in Cambridge, Taj Tandoori has built up a very loyal fan base and great reputation for the quality of its food and friendly smiling service.

They first opened in 1986 and has been providing unforgettable dishes ever since, you really do feel like part of a big family when you enter this establishment!

You’ll find a mix of authentic Bangladeshi dishes, legendary British curries, as well as dishes with Indian, British, and Chinese twists. 

Recommendations include the Shaslik Khana, this popular dish combines barbecued pieces of chicken tikka, bell peppers and grilled onions, cooked in a tomato based sauce.

The Fish Tikka from the Tandoori Oven is also worth mentioning, including melt in your mouth white fillet fish marinated with ground spices, delicious!

Trinity is situated in the heart of the historic city centre in Cambridge, nearby to Trinity College (would you have guessed). 

They offer English seafood & meat dishes as well as an abundance of lunch specials and moreish cocktails.

This cosy venue serving up some great flavours in a traditional aesthetic.

Open all day from 12 noon, Trinity has a lunch and evening menu so no matter what time you’re fancying a bite to eat, they’ve got you. 

If you’re wanting to treat yourself and your friends for an exquisite evening, why not try the A la Carte Menu?

We suggest trying the slow roasted pork belly with crushed sweet potato, sweetcorn and chorizo dressing  

They even have a dedicated vegetarian and vegan menu so no matter what your dietary requirements, we’re sure there will be something lovely for you to eat.

We recommend the roasted king oyster mushroom with tomato fennel marmalade and broad bean vinegar.

A cheery local bistro serving all day, The Senate creates a lovely environment to ensure you feel relaxed and happy whilst enjoying your food.

Their menu offers a great selection of sandwiches, sharing boards, and bigger vegetarian, vegan, meat and fish options.

They also have a quaint patio area perfect for cocktails, perfect for a nice quiet evening after exploring this vibrant city.

If you like burgers, we’d definitely recommend their Chicken & Bacon Bitsro Burger which consists of garlic & paprika chicken breast with lettuce, tomato and bacon with a side of pomme frites and aioli.

A delicious vegetarian option is the mushroom burger, a roasted Portobello mushroom in a toasted ciabatta bun with rocket, vegan mayo and red pepper jam. It also comes served with sweet potato fries.

8. Limoncello 

Last up on our list of the best places to eat in Cambridge is Limoncello, an authentic Italian deli and bistro situated on Mill Road. 

We recommend their tasty stone-baked pizza’s, our favourites are the mushroom and Italian sausage or the rocket and goats cheese.

Their signature ciabattas’ are amazing too we recommend trying the ‘surprise’ option to get a chef special on the day! 

The food isn’t the only thing that makes this place great either, the atmosphere is superb and will make you feel like you’re on holiday in Italy rather than in Cambridge. 

Why not kick back relax and have an Aperol Spritz with your meal?! We certainly would.
