Ultimate List Of Egham Restaurants To Visit During University

Table of Contents

Egham restaurants offer some delicious cuisine to students living in the quaint Surrey university town.

It’s nice to head out for dinner from time-to-time, whether you look at it as an incentive for working hard at university, a good way to spend time with friends, or to go out and celebrate a birthday.

Finding your favourite food places takes time and you want to do your research and try out a few places, don’t you?!

We’ve put together a list of some of the best Egham restaurants for you to try during your time there.

There’s a mixture of those right next door to your student home to those a little walk away in beautiful settings, fancy restaurants for big celebrations and a bit more expensive, alongside everyday pub grub.

It is all important to us, going out to eat is wonderful!

Egham restaurants

1. Italian Concept Restaurant

Authentic Neapolitan cuisine alongside the Runnymede riverside, this is the place to visit if you love Italian food.

The smell of garlic and the slight burn from the wood-fired pizza oven is enough to win our vote, we’re salivating just thinking about it.

The pizzas are light and fantastic, whilst there’s also a good selection of seafood on offer, such as octopus, prawns, and squid.

Pasta or pizza is great no matter what you choose, and the panna cotta is a go-to as a light summer dessert.

Leaning heavily on their Naples heritage, the team at the Italian Concept Restaurant make us dream of visiting Naples after we’ve left their lush summer garden dining area.

Considering it’s just a 15-minute walk from your student flat, you have no excuse but to book in for dinner!

Address: Skytes Meadow, Windsor Road, TW20 0AE

2. Villa Rosa

A warm, family welcome from the team at Villa Rosa is always guaranteed, whether you are joining them for a light lunch, a few starters with friends, or a big pizza or pasta dish.

If you fancy a pasta dish, we recommend giving the Spaghetti Ai Frutti Di Mare a go which comes with mixed seafood in olive oil and garlic sauce.

What about pizza you say? It has to be their Prosciutto e funghi with tomato sauce, mozzarella, ham and mushrooms.

The ingredients are fresh and delicious, and the dishes are authentic Italian!

With its close proximity to our student accommodation in Egham, this is one of those places that might end up your second home.

It’s the perfect location for a birthday celebration, a date night, or any other reason you can think of!

Address: High Street, TW20 9HN

3. Great Fosters

Great Fosters is a lavish hotel built in 1550 and has a fancy restaurant and an informal dining area as part of the extravagant estate on the edges of Egham.

The period rooms and Michelin-starred restaurant won’t fit all budgets for sure, but it’s worth mentioning here as that place for the ultimate experience and celebration.

With The Tudor Pass you can expect heightened gastronomic excellence at every stage of your meal.

A four-course lunch is priced at £65, whilst the signature seven-course dinner costs £120.

The Estate Grill on the other hand is a more informal dining setting, the food is honest, using the best ingredients to create local and seasonal dishes that make your taste-buds sing.

Remember that the dress code is smart casual throughout the hotel!

4. Leftbank Restaurant

Another fancy dining experience, the Leftbank at Runnymeade provides you with a glorious setting for a special occasion.

It is a family-friendly environment with an open kitchen and absolutely stunning views of the Thames.

The menu consists of a range of food from all parts of the world with a buffet so you can choose what you want.

Their buffet dining option is 32 per adult Monday to Thursday, or £35 per adult on Friday and Saturdays so it’s certainly good value for money.

The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and offer fantastic service so check it out!

Address: The Runnymeade on Thames, Windsor Road. TW20 0AG

5. The Crown

If you’re after some good old British pub grub, The Crown is the place for you.

It is a smart, clean, traditional pub on Egham High Street with comfortable sofas next to an open fire, a garden terrace, and fast, friendly service.

The Sunday Roast menu is particularly good, with some delicious extras such as the ‘bottomless’ Yorkshire puddings and gravy.

If you don’t fancy that, you’ve got all your pub favourites, such as fish and chips, mixed grill, burgers and chips, sausage, and mash.

The classics. The Crown also does some great packages for parties if you are thinking about bringing a celebration to your most local of pubs in Egham.

As far as Egham restaurants go, this is probably the simple one on the list, but that doesn’t take away from the quality of the food and the experience.

Plus, they offer 10 % Student Discount Sunday to Thursday after 5pm…

6. Eat Thai Restaurant

This intimate, authentic Thai restaurant has a menu full to the brim with classic recipes alongside some modern interpretations.

The décor might seem a little old-fashioned, but when the service and the food is good this doesn’t really matter.

There is also some outdoor seating available if you are looking to go out to eat during the warmer months of the year.

There’s a special set lunch menu available all week where you get two courses for just £7.95 per person.

We can’t think of anywhere offering better value than that, especially if you fancy trying the place out before taking a larger group there for a big meal and celebration.
