1. Cafune Café
Cafune Café is the first of its kind not only in Preston but also in the UK, being the first South American coffeeshop.
We don’t know about you, but that makes them different to any other places from the get to, right?
You’ll find this hidden gem on Market Street, round the corner from the Harris Museum, Art Gallery & Library.
If you’re looking for somewhere to pop in after doing some shopping, or if you’ve just got back from a morning of lectures, take a visit here.
No matter what your favourite brew is, we’re sure the menu here will tempt you and they even offer their own blend of coffee.
We’re talking, coffee with Nutella, iced Argentinian cappuccinos, flat white and even red velvet hot chocolates – we actually need to try these!
There’s such a chilled and friendly vibe in this place which takes inspiration from the culture of South America.
You’ll feel super welcomed and there’s tons of plug sockets on both floors of the café so you can bring your laptop along and tackle that project as you fuel up on coffee.

2. Bob and Berts
So, you’re searching for a café in Preston with long opening hours to get some uni work done? Well, Bob and Berts takes the lead for this one.
They’re open 6 days a week from 7:30am until 7pm and 9am until 7pm on Sunday’s – when they say tasty food and drink all day long, they really mean it!
Situated along Fishergate High Street, this modern cafe is in a prime location in the city centre so forget about trekking to get your perfect cuppa.
Their drinks menu has everything a coffee lover could want, from the likes of Chai latte to a White chocolate iced coffee to a House roast to a Suki tea.
They pride themselves on providing proper coffee and we reckon they do a pretty good job, but that’s up to you to determine!
Although, it does get pretty busy, so we can’t promise it’s gonna be the quietest environment to get on with tasks, but it does make a great place for catching up with friends.

3. Town House Coffee and Brew Bar
With so much choice from cafes in Preston, it can be hard to pick the best ones to take a trip to whilst studying here, but luckily you have us to help you out.
If you’re stressed, blessed and coffee obsessed then don’t worry so are we.
You can simply stroll off campus and be at Town House Coffee and Brew Bar in literally 2 minutes so, we’d highly recommend adding this award-winning coffeeshop to your list.
Amongst their variety of cuppas are Turmeric lattes, Mochas, and Cortado along with a daily changing cake menu if you fancy a sweet treat.
If coffee isn’t your thing (come on now) then they also offer health kick smoothies and green tea.
They also offer tons of vegan and gluten-free options so no matter your dietary requirements you can enjoy something good to eat and drink here.
They’re open 7 days a week from 10am until 4pm and they’re also dog-friendly so you can meet some four-legged friends whilst getting some work done – yesss please!

4. Cherry Pie Coffee & Co
Cherry Pie Coffee & Co, may be new on the scene of Preston café’s but it’s certainly a contender for one of the best places to grab a brew and have a catch up with your pals.
Head down to Preston Market with your laptop or your books and try some of the fresh quality food and drinks to get you focused on the task at hand.
Whether your fave drink is a Cappuccino, Americano or Vanilla Iced coffee, we’re certain you’ll find something on their menu that tickles your fancy.
If you’ve got a sweet tooth, they also offer Bavarian Slices, Chocolate Eclairs along with other treats for you to try.
Did we mention? They’re also on JustEat so you can order into your student flat if you don’t fancy heading out – ideal for when the weather is super chilly!
Whilst this place isn’t the best place to crack on and get uni work done, due to its busy market location, it will certainly satisfy your caffeine cravings.

5. Origin Bakehouse
Origin Bakehouse is a firm favourite when it comes to Preston cafes, as it’s situated just a short walk away from Preston train station.
So, if you’re taking a trip home and need somewhere to take a pit stop and grab a warm brew, this gorgeous little place is ideal.
You can choose from a range of caffeinated drinks from their seasonal menu including their pumpkin spice latte and pumpkin cream latte, or just try their bog standard stuff, whatever floats your boat.
If anyone knows how to make a cracking cup of coffee, it’s the folks at Origin!
If you’re someone who likes to tempt yourself with a nice dessert after getting your grind on, they offer a range of homemade cakes and pastries which are just mouth-watering, from chocolate sourdough cookies to s’mores cookies to sticky mixed nut buns.
We haven’t even told you the best part, all their desserts are vegan so everyone can enjoy!
When it comes to opening times, they’re open Wednesday-Saturday 9am-3pm so it’s not the best place to have a long study session, but you can get a good few hours in here.

6. Rise Café
You’ll find this lovely little cafe situated inside Miller Arcade in the city centre, with a welcoming atmosphere and friendly service it’s well worth a visit – we can’t get enough of it!
Whilst Rise is a popular place to rise and shine (get it), you can still get your head down and focus on any assignments with your headphones in if it does get a bit loud.
Of course, you’ve gotta purchase some of their great tasting coffees first, and maybe even something off their brunch menu!
No matter if you’re an iced coffee or a warm coffee enthusiast, there’s so much to choose from you’ll be spoilt when it comes to getting that perfect brew.
A couple of our highlights from their menu include the oat vanilla cold brew, long black, Spanish latte and the piccolo.

7. Holy Grounds
With the weather getting colder, sometimes you need to just sit and relax with a nice warm coffee to kickstart your day.
Well, at this coffeeshop there isn’t exactly any indoor seating (you’ll see what we mean) but it’s still well worth a visit.
You’ll find Holy Grounds situated on Ribblesdale Place, it’s literally located in a hidden hole-in-the-wall, on the edge of Avenham Park.
If you’re searching for a speciality coffee to sip on and a great tasting donut to scran then this place is a win, win really cos’ they offer both!
For just £3.75 you can get both a coffee and a donut, did someone say a flat white on a rainy day washed down by a chocolate orange donut? Give us some of that!
After you’ve placed your order, you can take a stroll around the park and feel refreshed ready for the day ahead, or just go for a little treat after uni.
They’re open from 8am until 4pm through the week and 9am until 5pm on Saturday, it’s definitely a trendy café you need to take a visit to this Autumn.

8. Cedarwood Coffee Co.
Cedarwood Coffee Co is one of the best coffee shops in Preston city centre.
You’ll find this little gem tucked away on a cobbled street down Winckley Street, whilst many people don’t even know it’s there, it’s well worth a visit.
When it comes to being student-friendly, this place really focus on providing a great study space for cracking on with tasks.
There’s plenty of tables, plug sockets and free-wifi as well as tons of great tasting coffee to be consumed – who can say no to that?!
Getting that all-important caffeine kick has never been better as not only do they offer a good selection of your typical coffees, but there’s so many milk alternatives so no matter what you like your coffee with, they’ll sort you out.
If you want to get some fresh air and a little break after focusing too hard on your laptop, then they have a nice little outdoor area too.
