University of Dundee

Being one of the UK’s leading universities, it comes as no surprise this uni secured a ranking of ‘28’ within the Complete University Guide 2022. Over 15,000 students flock here every year to experience both the excellent quality of teaching and student life. Did you know it’s even won awards for its top quality student experience? For us, this highlights how much of a big deal this uni actually is. 

Abertay University

Nestled in the heart of Dundee, Abertay University is a much smaller uni in comparison to its predecessor in this list. It was recently named the UK’s University of the Year for Teaching Quality from The Times & Sunday Times Good University Guide 2021. This achievement from a globally renowned listing has enforced their efforts in providing an uni experience unlike any other. The uni is well known for launching the world’s first computer games degree in 1997 and it was also the first to offer a degree in Ethical Hacking, starting in 2006.

For everything you could ever need, clothes, shoes, accessories, food, home essentials…the list is endless – Overgate Shopping Centre is the place to be. With over 60 retailers, it’s a huge part of Dundee’s economy and the city in general. The shopping centre is open Monday’s – Saturday between 09:00 and 18:00, and 11:00 – 17:00 on Sundays. Why not indulge in a tasty Five Guys whilst you’re here? Or, maybe you fancy popping into Frankie and Benny’s for a cosy meal with your pals. There’s so much to do here, especially as a uni student to relax and unwind after a hard day at uni!
