Located on the busy West Street, in front of Portland Tower, and not far from our Straits Manor student accommodation, The Cavendish is an institution.

It is one of the best places for you to start any night out on the town in Sheffield. If you want to get some food before you start drinking, the pub grub on offer is pretty good, with a wide range of drinks including cocktails, craft beers and everything in between to cater for your needs, all at a decent price.

The Cavendish is massive, with plenty of space for you to find a comfy spot for a few hours, whether you want to play a game of pool, some darts or even the slot machines inside, eat a big Sunday roast in the booths by the front window, or head to the big beer garden out the back when the sun is out.

It is an incredibly warm and welcoming place, an experience of a proper local English pub, with a fresh pint pulled as soon as you walk in the door, from staff who are as much a part of the experience as the drinks!

It serves a range of beers from all around the world, a fine selection of ale, and amazing cocktails, and you must try the flaming lemon drizzle shots (a famous part of any Sheffield night out!).

For students in the city, take a glimpse into a world of comfort and intimacy like no other pub in Steel City.

It is a very popular place, but it’s not overwhelming. Come with a group of friends and end up staying the whole night, you’ll love it so much.

It’s a big, bright, colourful, loud, and fun Irish pub, with cushioned seats and wood panelling at every turn.

The entertainment is what makes it though, as you all know what an Irish pub looks like.

There’s live music in the pub 3 nights a week from 9.30 pm, live sports on the big screens every day, and the food is good pub grub too. Molly Malones is one of those pubs in Sheffield where you know exactly what you’re getting, it’s loads of fun, and you always leave with a big smile on your face.

Our Crown House student accommodation in Sheffield is just a few short stops away from The Sheffield Tap on Sheaf Street, one of the most unique pubs in Sheffield, or anywhere for that matter.

The tap opened in 2009 within the original First-Class refreshment room for Sheffield Midland Station, which had been built in 1904.

The award-winning restoration has retained many original features and it is a truly stunning place to have a pint of beer.

Located within the railway station, it is often the first pub on a crawl in Sheffield, as it is also in the perfect location to get on the tram system.

The pub has an on-site micro-brewery that makes some delicious pints, alongside ale from local and national breweries. The Sheffield Tap is one for the purists.

It is a micro-pub, delivering punters its ales, alongside some of the best examples of beer from other places locally and further afield in the UK.

As independent pubs in Sheffield go, the owners are fantastic here, passionate about the beer and food they serve up, and it does show in the standard on offer.

If you want to play fun pub games, snack away whilst supping the perfect pint, and catching up with some mates, The Itchy Pig is the pub for you.

The ‘High Beer’ events are something else, providing something different than the bog-standard student night out, where groups of between 5 and 30 people can taste 6 different real ales for just a tenner.

Add a fiver on to the bill and you get a ploughman’s lunch thrown in as well!
